A message from Jeff Lewis,

Mother Cabrini Shrine Administrator

Dear Friends of Mother Cabrini Shrine,

The year 2010 was exciting for all of us at Mother Cabrini Shrine.  It was my first year as administrator, and we welcomed two new Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus as well:  Sr. Patricia Dunleavy, MSC and Sr. Roselle Santivasi, MSC.  All of our visitors, benefactors, and volunteers have been extremely hospitable and have made the transition in leadership evolve with great ease.  With all of the challenges that occurred in 2010, including the vandalism, you have helped make the past year a great success here at the Shrine.

Our goal for 2011 is to learn more about the current needs of those who come to the Shrine.  As we gather feedback, we can review more precisely our Mission so that the programs and services we provide can more appropriately accommodate the needs of those we serve.  We look forward to another great year, and we thank you once again for your support in making the Shrine such a beautiful place for all to experience the presence of God.

Roselle Information Directory for Help

Here at Mother Cabrini Shrine we have been working to develop and publish a list of human resources in the Denver and surrounding areas. The directory will be available for all who visit the Shrine, along with a File of Life Form. Key directions and resource topic headings are in English and Spanish.

We want to thank our volunteers who have helped develop and verify the resource data - Jeannie Salonya, Monica Krygowski, Carole Thrush, JoEtta Heiney and Luchie Jones. The formatting has been the work of Dan Krygowski and Ben Solomon. With Ben's work, he has helped us produce the final draft months in advance.

We hope that the directory will guide people as they seek assistance with their various needs, as well as, help the helpers. Our projected date for availability is March 1, 2011.

--Sr. Roselle Santivasi, M.S.C.

Mother Cabrini

A Prayer to St. Frances Xavier Cabrini

Saint Frances Cabrini - woman of God, woman of spirit and vision. You crossed the oceans many times to bring the love of Christ to many nations.

You offered the people you met the gift of life and love by responding to their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs in practical and creative ways. Against great odds you achieved what was thought to be impossible. Inspired by your sense of justice, your love and compassion l come to you now to intercede for me through the Heart of Jesus.

Watch over me this day and those I love. Strengthen me in my weakness, sustain me in my struggles and bring me a deep and lasting peace and make me whole again. May I always recognize Christ in the people I meet and respond to them with respect and sensitivity as you did. I ask this through our one God, for your God is my God, now and forever. Amen.

About the Shrine

Mother Cabrini Shrine is self-supporting and does not have outside sources of revenue.  Donations, gift shop sales, our annual gala and other fundraising programs account for all of the Shrine's income.  The funds raised from our gala and donations are used for operations and on-going capital improvements so that we can keep the mission of the Shrine thriving for future generations.
