Mother Cabrini Shrine

Mother Cabrini Shrine, located beyond the foothills of Golden, Colorado was established by Saint Frances Xavier Cabrini for the purpose of spreading the gospel and providing a peaceful summer atmosphere for orphan children.

On this site, Mother Cabrini arranged large white stones in the shape of a heart, surrounded by a smaller stone cross and crown of thorns. The 373 steps that lead to a 22-foot statue of the Sacred Heart of Jesus are adorned by the Stations of the Cross, the mysteries of the rosary and the Ten Commandments. A cool spring of miraculous water still flows today after Mother Cabrini found it on the barren hilltop.

Sacred Heart of Jesus Statue Rededication May 20, 2008

Sacred Heart of Jesus statue at Mother Cabrini Shrine in Golden, Colorado was rededicated after being struck by lightening one year ago to the day. Denver ’s Archbishop Charles J. Chaput, O.F.M., Cap. blessed and incensed the newly restored statue.

The beautiful three-ring hardback cover has an original rendition of the Sacred Heart Statue the Shrine is so well known for. The cookbook contains 200 recipes from great cooks as well as Sisters, staff, and many friends of the Shrine from all over the world. All the funds raised from this cookbook project will be used for the maintenance and operations of Mother Cabrini Shrine. The cost of the cookbook is $20.00 with $5.50 per book for shipping.
